A Garden Courtyard

This garden and courtyard were designed to give privacy to a home which fronts onto a busy street in Point Grey, Vancouver. Reflecting the client’s interest in quiet, meditative spaces, the concrete, gravel and basalt terraces are enclosed by a 6-foot high horizontal cedar fence. Of particular note, the concrete sections are divided by zinc strips into smaller sections to give the courtyard scale. The basalt slabs are lit at night by small step lights.
