a walking table

This table was constructed at the Calgary Jewish Community Centre to thank those who donated funds towards a future campus nearby. Designed to allow for various events/dinners and ceremonies, its notched end will allow for other tables to be added in the future, as new buildings and donors emerge. The distinctive shapes of the stainless steel legs are meant to evoke a sense of human movement to the piece; being a reference to the diasporic and moving history of the Jewish people.
