Eternal Home Cemetery Gate

This is a new vehicular and pedestrian entry for an existing cemetery in Colma, California. The motif for the patterning was meant to complement the stained-glass patterning of the cemetery’s funeral hall, designed in the mid-century modernist style. Shades of blues and aquas were chosen to serve as a cooling contrast to the arid climate of the site. A large pre-cast sign element is to run perpendicular to the main street and will be softly illuminated at night to create the illusion that it is floating in mid-air.
