Hjørring Water Park

Design for a water-park for the City of Hjørring, Denmark. The site is located in Folkparken, the city’s major metropolitan green space and will feature a large watering can which will provide a central focus for the new space. Mist, fog, streams, gushes, and sprinkles of water will emanate from the can and then travel through a constructed sand and boulder ‘estuary-playground’. The water will then drain into an existing pond.

The city recently diverted their storm water system into a series of naturally draining filtration ponds and streams. Located near the day-lit source of this water, this project will become the symbol of the city’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the nurturing of its residents.
