Pier Furnishings and Lighting

Redevelopment of the Burrard Shipyards waterfront site in North Vancouver, BC, involved the evolution of its use from industrial to public. As part of the transformation, site furnishings, infrastructure and public spaces were designed. Included are three different bench designs, site signage, lighting, trash receptacles, and a host of other elements.

Working alongside the prime consultant, Durante Kreuk Landscape Architects, a palette of materials and forms were selected to retain the original lexicon of shipbuilding fabrication. Steel plate, standard pipe sections, “I” beams, and “stacks of things” became the building blocks of the project.
