The Last Great Naive Acts of the 20th Century

An art gallery of movable and fragile objects set the context for this dance. A jug in the shape of a head was designed to crumble while being hugged. A velvet chair, or was it a guitar, was occasionally strummed. A translucent screen made of parchment was rolled around the stage to act as a space divider and projection surface. Costumes were layered and distended, designed to be slowly stripped away. Finally, 100 cast concrete shoes became shifting piles of rubble, echoing visions of the holocaust for the choreographer.
